NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Democratic Party today announced plans to reschedule its annual Jackson Day fundraiser for late summer 2009 due to logistical and scheduling issues. The event had been set for May 30. A new date and location will be announced shortly.
Headlining the rescheduled event will be Governor Phil Bredesen, Democratic Leadership Council Chairman Harold Ford Jr., and a lineup of prominent Democrats committed to helping advance next year’s candidates and campaigns in Tennessee.
“Jackson Day is a cherished tradition and a celebration of what it means to be a Tennessee Democrat,” said TNDP Chairman Chip Forrester. “We’re taking more time to plan this year’s event, which will serve as the kickoff of our 2010 efforts to take back the legislature and hold the governor’s office.”
